The Bedford Bunny Story

The story of Bedford Bunny began in 1992 when Aunty Shamla decided to open a take away that would cater to the growing population in the area. Her focus was on preparing quality Indian curries and traditional bunny chows. Not traditional South Indian” or traditional North Indian, but traditional “South African Indian””. Curries prepared the way we prepare them at home. Quality ingredients and unique spice blends with an emphasis on great taste and value. Only the best quality meats and the freshest vegetables would be good enough. With her husband Keith, the two entrepreneurs worked long, hard hours perfecting recipes, testing various combinations of masalas and spices, trying different ways of serving hot fresh food to the community and building a business with an amazing reputation. People from far and wide now know the name “Bedford Bunny” and can attest to the tasty meals that are produced in their kitchen.

Expanding the menu to include other Indian favorites such as curry and rice, roti wraps and samoosas, (all produced in house using 100% meat and fresh vegetables) the founders of Bedford Bunny made certain to include daily and weekly specials to cater to all needs and tastes. Pricing is always kept affordable, and the menu is updated regularly to keep up with changing tastes.
